Happy Hallucinations

by

I hope
To find myself
In your happy hallucinations,
Where you could gaze
At the butterflies inside my stomach
Jittering at your sight
Fluttering purple kisses,
Sometimes teal, or pink…
To contrast your inner world
Of a thousand shades of grey,
To remind you of a world
Full of colours,
Waiting patiently
For your return.

I hope
To imprint myself
On the tapestry of your mind,
As a memory
That tastes bittersweet,
A fine vintage
Aged beautifully,
Only to be opened
On special occasions
Of melancholy.
To fill your empty chalice
With crushed sweet affection
Fermented with care.

I hope
To be your lighthouse,
When you lose yourself
In the dark forest of doubt,
Prowling with uncertainties,
Where fear stalks you,
Like a voracious predator
Staring at your neck…
When your mind grabs your hand
And takes you
To the dark caverns
In the recess of your soul,
Where your heart starts humming
With dissonance
To an uncontrollable
Off-beat song…

I hope
To be a warm blanket,
When your body
Starts going cold,
And numb…
Quilted with precious memories
Of spontaneous happiness,
A shield of love,
Sheltering
Your innocence,
Your secret small pleasures,
Your resolve
To save yourself,
From the depth of your own abyss…

I hope
To be your anchor –
Rusted by time,
Ravaged by space,
But heavy enough
To keep you grounded.
When your shadow self
Pushes you,
To float away,
Far away, deep
Into the gloom of oblivion,
Leaving a trail of tears
Behind your darkened veil.

I hope
To be
Your first drop of tear.
Of joy? Of Sadness?
Or sheer Madness?
Does it even matter?
When the dormant fire inside
Burns and rages
With passion reignited,
When it thaws you out
From your icy numbness,
When it flows through your veins
And drenches the seeds of hope
That you sowed yourself
From which your happiness
Will sprout and shine upon
The rest of the world.

I hope
To be your wings
As you unshackle yourself,
From yourself,
To fly as close to the sun
To your heart’s desire.
Dive, and twirl,
Bathe in the mist of clouds,
Swim amidst free birds,
With the sweet aftertaste of freedom
Lingering in your mouth.
As your darkness,
From time to time, inevitably,
Starts pulling you towards the abyss.
I wish to take my place, again,
To remind you of your own light,
In your happy hallucinations,
To find myself,
I hope…
