I carved my heart into a spoon
To feed you my love, my love.
My broken bones fashioned into
Rough and rugged forks,
So you could swallow my soul
Served on my ivory-white skull,
Made hollow to carry your pain.
I let my tongue under your teeth,
My marrow in your drool,
And yet, you have the galls to say,
While flossing your ungrateful teeth
With my dried out, dissonant heartstrings:
“Needed a bit more salt, no?”
Then you gobbled it all up
With your gluttonous grin
And your lustful smile
After I seasoned my being
With trails of tears,
You uttered softly:
At last, perfection!
