There was a lonely little lighthouse,
Derelict, on a teeny-tiny asteroid
Floating through space
Aimlessly swimming
Through the writhing waves of Cosmos,
Sometimes upright,
Upside-down at times,
Or sideways every so often.
For an adventurer of darkness
Does it even matter?
For aeons and ages,
Alone, with fortitude,
It spun its guiding light
To nowhere in particular.
Wise sailors of the unknown,
They know better not to follow
Its incandescent allure –
Sometimes red, sometimes blue,
And all the hues in between,
Leading all things to the final destination –
To the great void of the unknown…
Until the spinning light
Felt a gentle pull –
A tug of peace
Towards the end of an endless journey
Pulled by its own light
By a darkness incarnate,
Crowned by a fiery whirlpool,
A turbulent ocean
On which the tower kept surfing,
Its own beams of light
Bending to guide its path
Towards the inevitable.
