Weight-loss Journey Diary Entry #8

In a single month I lost 3.8 kg (8.4 lbs), lost 3 cm (1.2″) around my waist and my body fat% got from 35.8% to 32.7%. And I managed to do it during the lockdown, with no gym, no outdoor running and minimal body weight exercises.

I look back and I realize what contributed to this change. It’s not the physical activities that made it happen. The real star of this change is watching my caloric intake. I started keeping a food journal from the 9th of March and that allowed me to not only get to know my food better, it allowed me to get to know myself better and my eating habits. This is making me realize that nutrition is the backbone of fitness.

As Barb Gormley said so eloquently: “Fitness is 20% exercise and 80% nutrition. You can’t outrun your fork”. I can’t wait to see what happens in a month.
